Gallery Poulsen’s Winter Salon

We say goodbye to 2021 and bid the new year welcome in proper Gallery Poulsen fashion. To help us do so we have invited a star-studded lineup of the gallery’s usual suspects to present what they have been working on for the past six months. The result of this is a large and brand new group exhibition.

At Gallery Poulsen, we have decided that 2022 should be a spectacular and memorable year. Not that the previous years haven’t been, but the art is in a state of constant development, and just as you think that it can’t possibly get any better the artists conjure up new phenomenal works that make us stop and look in awe. We also look forward to being able to bring the art with us on travels again and exhibit it at art fairs both here in Denmark and abroad. If the ever-present Covid-19 pandemic will loosen its grip on our everyday lives.

Gallery Poulsen’s Winter Salon is an exhibition that should have originally been shown at this year’s Art Herning at the end of January. Unfortunately, Art Herning has been postponed until the end of May, so instead we have decided to show the exhibition at our usual location in the Meatpacking district of Copenhagen from Saturday, January 8th at 12.

Just like Art Herning, countless institutions of art and culture are now forced to close their doors or operate under different or less than optimal circumstances. So far the gallery world in Copenhagen has remained largely untouched by these restrictions, which means that our winter salon offers a cultural experience out of the ordinary in a time where similar events are few and far between.

The exhibition does not have a common underlying theme but honors the artists’ unrelenting need and desire to create. Let this homage be the light at the end of the tunnel for all of us who enjoy the painting, the sculpture, the drawing, and the photograph. This light can guide us through the limbo that the entire world finds itself in.

Gallery Poulsen’s Winter Salon has a lot to offer and flanked by Norman Reedus’ solo exhibition “Live the Life You Love” there are more than sixty great and exhibited reasons to stop by Gallery Poulsen on Saturday from 12 – 4 PM.

The exhibition presents new works by: Adam Miller (US), Angela Gram (US), Anne Herrero (US), Emilia Nurmivaara (FIN), Jean-Pierre Roy (US), Jed Webster Smith (US), Jiannan WU (CHN), John Jacobsmeyer (US), Landon Bailey Higgins (US), Martin Wittfooth (US), Mu Pan (US), Niklas Asker (SE), Pauliina Pietila (FIN), Taylor Schultek (US) og Tine Nedbo (DK)
