Martin Wittfooth's painting, “Parade”, is nominated for a Juno Award (Canada’s equivalent of the Grammy awards), for the cover to the band Protest the Hero’s 2020 album, Palimpsest.

The awards ceremony itself isn’t until early June, but the nominees were announced a little while ago.

Rebecca Orcutt is together with nine other female figurative artists nominated for Rising Voices 2 The Bennett Prize

Ten women from across the country who paint in the figurative realist style were named finalists for the $50,000 Bennett Prize®, the largest art award ever offered solely to women figurative realist painters, and now in its second round of awards. The finalists were selected from among 674 entrants, a number that surpasses the entrants in 2018, the inaugural year of The Prize. Endowed at The Pittsburgh Foundation by art collectors Steven Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt, The Prize is designed to propel the careers of women artists.

Rebecca Orcutt was in American Art Collector Magazine issue 184, in an article about the Bennett Prize 2.0 finalists.

William Powhida's show "Possibilities for Representations" just opened in LA at Charlie James Gallery. The show is a new installation of his work from the Aldrich Museum show along with new individual paintings and two new panels.

William Powhida deconstructs the history of America as a “settler-colonial project,” a paradigm which has imprinted structures of white supremacy and “racial capitalism” on the DNA of the country, original sins the country is battling to overcome to this day.
